Newly released Epstein files from DOJ show Maria Farmer reported Jeffrey Epstein in 1996 for allegedly stealing and selling nude photos of her underage sisters.
The complaint, labeled under “child pornography,” was ignored for decades until its disclosure under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
Farmer, who has also accused Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell of sexually assaulting her, said in a statement that the day the document was released was one of the best of her life.
Possession of child sexual abuse material has been a federal crime in the United States since 1978, and Congress strengthened the law in 1984 under President Ronald Reagan.
